Original state of artisanal fishing in the bay of Prado in Marseille
In
order to protect the marine environment and increase marine resources,
the town of Marseille leads an important artificial reefs program in
collaboration with fishermen.
The goal is to diversify marine resources to help and defend local
artisanal fishing. This study's objective was to assess the present
state of the halieutic resources in order to eventually measure the
impact of artificial reefs on these resources.
We
sampled in collaboration with fishermen during missions in 2005. We
collected the information necessary to do comparisons with those
obtained after the settlement. P2A has been hired to continue this
monitoring over 1 year during fabrication and immersion and after it.

Telline ( Donax trunculus) study in Camargue
Camargue
regional nature park started a study on the bivalve Donax trunculus in
2005. This work has 2 objectives: to acquire better knowledge of this
poorly known resource and to obtain information on how to manage and
fish it in the most sustainable way.
Sampling took place in November 2005 and August 2006. With results we
can suggest orientations for the management and new fishgear to better
exploit the resource.
